Strategic Commissioning Manager - ASC

Working closely the other Commissioning Manager and Head of Commissioning to take through current commissioning projects and set the strategic direction as well as line managing one commissioning officer.

Key Responsibilities as Commissioning Manager:

• Working on increasing market capacity, crisis response and developing the forensic offer
• Develop strategy for safe-haven accommodation
• See through full commissioning lifecycle
• Prepare and co-ordinate plans for commissioning, procurement and contract management activities
• Engage and develop the local provider market
• Work with the NHS to secure appropriate service for people being discharged from hospital
• Review our provision of services for an aging population
• Ensure support is available to people within the local communities, reducing hospital admissions where safe to do so.
• Ensure Learning Disabilities services are fit for the future and develop pathways for older people to move into different care settings as they get older.

Essential experience as Commissioning Manager:

• Good legal literacy across the Mental Health Act and Care Act, as well as Care Act Reforms.
• Has line managed Adult Social Care staff
• Has demonstrable experience within a local authority setting working at Service Manager or above level
• Can provide 2 year's references + in a similar role within Adult Social Care
