I was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer in December 2018. As the DCEO I was the head operations of the Authority, responsible for providing strategic direction in all technical areas. This was critical role as the Authority was implementing a major project to transform Botswana’s education and training to an outcome based system. During the period April 2018 to August 2019, I was appointed Acting CEO. The Acting appointment afforded me an opportunity to drive the overall organisational strategy. Achievements • Mid Term Review of the 2016-2021 BQA Strategy. • Full Implementation of new salary structure and migration of all employees. • Implementation of National Credit and Qualifications Framework • Establishment of partnerships with other regulators in SADC for subject matter; expert for the implementation of the National Credit and Qualifications Framework; • Review of Human Resources and Information Communication Technology (ICT) policies to ensure alignment to current trends. • Exceeded standards for external audits and production of annual reports for 2018/19 and 2019/20.

I was appointed Director Quality Assurance in January 2017 following my redeployment from the position Business Development Department. The main reason for the redeployment was to head a very sensitive national level quality assurance transition project. My role also included coordination of the quality assurance system at SADC level as a member of the Executive Committee of the Technical Committee on Certification and Accreditation. Achievements: • Transition of education and training providers to the new systems during 2017-2020 period. • Successful coordination of quality assurance system for tertiary education system which covered over 130 institutions and over 400 consultancies. • Developed and implemented a turnaround strategy for expediting accreditation, delivering a six months project in four months for Higher education in 2017. • Development of the Quality Assurance Framework for SADC.

I was appointed Director Development Services on 01 April 2015, changed to Director Business Development in November 2016. The position was responsible for overseeing development of qualifications with industry to ensure alignment of education and training to skills requirements. I was re-designated Director Business Development following a rationalisation of the organisational structure in September 2016. The role was responsible for overseeing industry linkages, development of qualification, ICT and evaluation of qualifications. While serving as the Director Business Development I was assigned to head the Strategy Management Division from January to July 2016 as an additional responsibility. Achievements: • Concluding all qualifications developments projects started under BOTA; • Establishing an Online- application system (Bitrix); • Establishing partnership with UK-NARIC, an international qualifications verification network for evaluation of external qualifications. • Oversee development and cascading of the 2016-2021 BQA Strategy. • Development and deployment of strategy implementation framework

My roles involved three main activities in quality assurance detailed as follows: i) Implementation of regulatory standards ii) Lead Auditor for BOBS Quality Management Certification and Product Certification Schemes. iii) Serving as the Quality Management Representative for BOBS’ Quality Management System. Achievements • Development of Strategies for implementation of compulsory standards with different stakeholders. • Implementation of regulatory water standards within Water Utilities Corporation, Department of Water Affairs and Debswana Diamond Company. The project resulted in installation of reverse osmosis plant in Orapa to improve water quality for residents. • Implementation of regulatory standards for cattle feed, chicken feed, sorghum, Liquid Petroleum Gas, Carrier plastics and products labelling. • Management of BOBS QMS and retaining certificate throughout my tenure as Management Representative. • Participated in the development of BOBS certification schemes for Management Systems and Products

Achievements • Compliance to testing protocols, the testing results were never rejected by customer quality assurance laboratories. • Establishment and implementation of a management system according to ISO 17025 standard. The system has since been accredited by Southern African Development Community Accreditation Services.
